Valve & Automation have been supplying manual, on/off and control valves for power generation plants for more than 25 years. While high pressures and temperatures pose a challenge for valve design, engineers have a unique challenge when selecting Automatic Recirculation Valves (ARC Valves) also known as Leak Off Valves to protect steam driven and electrically driven feedwater pumps. High pressure drops combined with high flows as well as fluctuating demands are some of the challenges faced by design and maintenance engineers to ensure that these critical pumps are fully operational and protected during minimum flow conditions. Together with Schroeder who have been manufacturing ARC Valves since 1950 we have assisted many power plants to protect these valuable assets and resolve pump problems. V&A regularly supply solutions to Eskom power generation plants as well as power plants within Sasol, Sappi and Mondi as well as Sulzer and KSB who manufacture critical pumps for these world class facilities.
For demin water the Ebro butterfly valve is ideal for temperatures up to 1300C. Chemical dosing and handling within the demin plant requires the Richter fully lined valve. Arca control valves are capable of addressing the needs of all pressure reduction, stream conditioning and temperature reduction within power plants. In applications where a Turbine ESD is required, the triple eccentric Tri-Con metal seated rotary process valve provides fast operation as well as zero leakage.
