The Storagetech Model 310 Flame Arrester is a safety device designed to inhibit flame propagation in a gas piping system as well as low pressure tanks that contain flammable liquids.

Specifically designed to meet the high standards of the Oil & Gas, Chemical and Petrochemical industries, it has a flame barrier with a large number of defined passage gaps. The gap cross section is set based on the properties of the flowing gas to ensure that it is cooled effectively and secured against a flame flashback in the case of continuous combustion. Flame arrestors are generally mounted to a flange or pipe which is connected to the vapour space of a storage tank or pipeline. The Model 310 is designed for End of Line Deflagration Vertical installation.  Under normal working conditions, the flame element allows the bi-directional flow of air and flammable vapour. In the event of a fire or ignition external to the equipment that ignites the flammable discharge, the flame arrestor will quench the leading fire by absorbing and dispersing the heat as it passes through the element.
